Boil water advisory lifted in Carteret

A boil water advisory in Carteret has been lifted.

It comes after a water main broke along Longfellow Street early Friday morning.

Crews with Middlesex Water responded. About 25,000 customers were affected, including the entire town of Carteret and in the Port Reading section.

Earlier reports had said that the advisory was expected to continue into Sunday, but as of noon Saturday the advisory has been lifted.
