Posted: Updated:
ELIZABETH -

The Elizabeth Fire Department is warning residents about a scam that's asking people for money on behalf of the department.

Scammers are calling people and visiting businesses asking for donations.

Department officials say the callers are not with the Elizabeth Fire Department because it doesn’t ask for donations.

Residents and business owners are advised not to give out any personal or financial information.

If you’re contacted by someone, please contact the police department at (908)-558-2111.
