Community members defend embattled commanding officer

Members of the Sunset Park community are speaking out to defend their police precinct commander after a local nightclub owner sued the city, accusing the officer of corrupt tactics.
In a $125 million notice of claim filed against the city, Imran Jairam accused Emmanuel Gonzalez of unfairly targeting his nightclub, Love and Lust, with false arrests.
The suit also claims Gonzalez demanded personal benefits as the club collected donations for hurricane relief, such as 11 free roundtrip tickets to Puerto Rico and a generator for a friend on the storm-ravaged island.
Gonzalez's lawyer, along with members of the community, denied these allegations.
The NYPD confirmed there is an internal investigation into the matter. They also confirmed they are investigating rapper 50 Cent on allegations of aggravated harassment. That comes after the rapper made a social media post where he seemed to threaten Gonzalez.
