School cancels lacrosse season over player’s alleged racial slur

Haddonfield School District officials have canceled the remainder of the boys' lacrosse season after allegations that a white team member used a racial slur against a black female athlete from another school.
Officials say the girl was by the lacrosse field tying her shoes when the white student told her to get off the track and called her a racial slur.
Superintendent David T. Lindenmuth said in a statement that there is "no room for hate of any kind" in the district.
