Police in Newark are asking for the public's help finding a missing woman who may have been last seen in the company of her ex-boyfriend, who is now wanted for a domestic violence assault.
The family of Julia Vega, 30, reported her missing Thursday.
Vega was last seen in the area of 7th Street around noon driving a 2006 White Toyota Sienna, with a New Jersey license plate of E56-GVV.
Police issued a warrant for the arrest of Gualberto Lebron, 32, of Newark, a man Vega knows, following an assault that occurred back on May 5.
Detectives investigating her whereabouts are working to determine whether Vega is in the company of Lebron, who remains at large.
Police confirmed LeBron and Vega had a part relationship that's since ended.
They would not confirm whether Vega was the victim of that domestic violence assault earlier this month or whether they believe she's in danger.
Vega is 4'10" tall and weighs approximately 170 lbs.
Anyone who may have information about Vega's whereabouts should call the Newark Police Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477) or 1-877-NWK-GUNS (1-877-695-4867).
