WEST ORANGE -

Children with special needs were able to visit Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange Monday for Friendship Day.

About 1,400 children attended the event. They were able to visit the animals and participate in a wide variety of activities. The children came from various schools around New Jersey.

Friendship Day is organized by the Elks Club. The zoo donates the entire day to the cause, including food and prizes.

Turtle Back Zoo has been holding Friendship Day for 41 years.
