Gas prices across New Jersey have started to creep up as summer approaches.
At the corner of Newman Springs Road and Shrewsbury Avenue in Red Bank, three gas stations compete for customers amid rising gas prices.
At the Shell and Exxon stations gas prices round out to about $3 per gallon.
Across the street at the Lukoil station, prices are $3.29 a gallon.
Prices are quietly and steadily trending higher as the busy warm weather driving season begins.
The rise in price may be due to oil prices that continue to rise combined with the switch over to the summer fuel mixture.
AAA says the average price of gas last month was $2.64 per gallon compared to today's average of $2.86 per gallon. AAA also stated that last year's average was $2.43 per gallon.
