Man gets 12 years in string of Nassau knifepoint robberies

The man convicted of robbing nearly 20 business across Long Island has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Shane Cashmore was sentenced for the 10 knifepoint robberies that happened across Nassau County. Police say he could face even more time behind bars for crimes committed in Suffolk.
Prosecutors say Cashmore needed the money to buy heroin.
Next month, Cashmore is expected to be sentenced in Suffolk for eight more robberies.
