Police: Baby found dead inside suitcase near Jersey City tracks

Jersey City police are continuing to investigate after the body of an infant was discovered inside a suitcase.
A PATH crew member first spotted the suitcase Wednesday around 1 p.m. below a pedestrian walkway near Van Wagenen Avenue.
Police left the scene over two hours later with bags of evidence, one of which appeared to be the suitcase.
Investigators have since gone door to door in an attempt to find any information that could help them.
"I mean, it's very sad," says neighbor Karen Hernandez. "Nothing like that has ever happened here.”
An autopsy was scheduled to be performed Thursday to determine the age and cause of death of the infant.
