Devils clinch spot in the NHL playoffs for 1st time since 2012

The New Jersey Devils have clinched a spot in the NHL playoffs for the first time since 2012.
They defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs by a score of 2-1 in regulation.
Devils earn their spot in the postseason off goals by Pavel Zacha and Miles Wood.
Goalie Keith Kinkaid stopped 30 shots on goal. Kinkaid, who started the season as a backup goalie, has been strong for the Devils since starter Corey Schneider had to take time off for an injury.
The Devils have one remaining game in the regulation season against the Washington Capitals in Washington on Saturday.
Tonight was Fan Appreciation Night at the Prudential Center for the Devil’s last home game of the season.
