Kids get up close and personal during ‘Big Wheels Day’ in Woodbridge

Some kids in Middlesex County were able to get a first-hand look at some large trucks during Woodbridge’s annual “Big Wheels Day.”
The children were able to see and sit in firetrucks, snowplows, bulldozers and more. Some of the youngsters were given a ride in one of the cherry pickers.
Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac says that the event is a great educational opportunity for the children.
“You never know with kids what might spark them,” he says. “They might see a firetruck, they might see a police truck, we’ve got all of our public work trucks here.”
McCormac says that the event is also fun for the crews who get to show off their vehicles to the kids.
“It’s actually a good break for those guys,” McCormac says. “They just had a heck of a winter. They were working their tails.”
Big Wheels Day has been a fixture in Woodbridge for 20 years.
