Friday evening marks beginning of Passover

EDISON -

Friday evening marked the beginning of Passover.

The celebration refers to the Jewish people’s safe passage out of Egypt. Those of the faith say that it is a time for reflection and thanksgiving. The centerpiece of the celebration is the Seder dinner.

“The Seder is a very old tradition and is really the founding story of the Jewish people,” says Rabbi Eric Eisenkramer of Temple B’Nai Shalom.

Passover lasts for a week.
