Elderly man dies after Toms River collision

TOMS RIVER -

An elderly man was killed Saturday afternoon after a head-on collision in Toms River.

The collision occurred on Route 9 and North Maple Avenue.

Police say 95-year-old Raymond Gillick was going southbound when his Hyundai Sonata crossed over into the oncoming lane and smashed into another car.

Gillick died shortly after being taken to the hospital.

The driver and passenger of the other car suffered minor injuries.
