Dropping temperatures overnight could result in another slippery commute Friday morning.

The massive overnight snowfall created some slick roads Thursday morning across Long Island. Accidents were reported on the Southern State Parkway eastbound near Newbridge Road and a Suffolk highway patrol officer sustained minor injuries after he was rear-ended by a vehicle on the eastbound Long Island Expressway in Medford.

In addition, a tree came down blocking traffic on the LIE north service road near Bagatelle Road.

There were also complaints about some residential roads not being plowed well enough. Nelson Donald says it’s a problem that has been going on for years in South Farmingdale.

Supervisor Joe Saladino said that town roads were about 90 percent finished mid-Thursday afternoon.

“The first stage is to make sure that there is one passable lane in the middle down the crown of the lane,” said Saladino.

On Totten Avenue in Deer Park, there was a lot of snow still visible on the side streets during the late morning, but homeowners didn't seem that concerned.
