Commercial vehicle travel ban lifted

A commercial vehicle travel ban in New Jersey was lifted Thursday morning, according to New Jersey State Police.
State police put the ban into effect Tuesday ahead of a nor’easter storm that crossed the state Wednesday.
The travel ban was for interstates 78, 80, 280 and 287, and included all tractor-trailers, passenger vehicles pulling trailers, RVs, motorcycles and empty straight CDL-weighted trucks.
The ban did not include the Garden State Parkway or New Jersey Turnpike, but speed restrictions were in effect for those highways.
Motorists were still being urged to stay off the roads as much as possible early Thursday morning to allow crews to plow and salt the roads.
