Abundance Dance Academy reopens in new location

A dance academy that was closed a year ago after a rent hike forced it to shut down has reopened in a new location.
After the AbunDance Academy of the Arts studio shut down on Rodgers Avenue last April, Karisma Jay reached out to the community for help.  Her  neighbors stepped in, offering up any free spaces they had. Some of the girls had to learn routines for their June show in their living rooms.
Jay says not only did she get a nicer space on Sullivan Place, but her students now have her inner strength and resilience as inspiration to follow their own dreams.
The owners of AbunDance Academy of the Arts hosted a reopening Sunday at the studio’s new location on Sullivan Place.
The studio is offering special discounted classes for the week to thank the community.
