Hudson County sees wintry mix as nor'easter begins

SEACAUCUS -

Hudson County is facing rapidly shifting weather Wednesday morning as yet another nor'easter hits New Jersey.

With some areas of the state facing up to a foot of snow, Hoboken and Seacucus did not see much snowfall during the morning hours, but precipitation finally picked up around noon.

Snow is not yet sticking to roads in the area, but conditions expected to worsen as the day progresses.

Area officials are stressing the importance of safety on the roads, offering tips for those who have vehicle troubles during the storm.

They say to pull an affected vehicle as far as possible off the road and to remain in the car as you wait for help. If possible, they add to run your engine and heat for 10 minutes each hour to keep warm.

News 12 meteorologists are projecting up to a foot of snow in northern New Jersey, 4 to 6 inches in central New Jersey and 2 to 4 in southern sections of the state.
