RIDGEWOOD -

A Ridgewood woman is in the hospital after a tree landed on top of her Saturday morning.

Police say the woman was walking her dog near the intersection of Woodland Avenue and Heights Road just after 11:30 a.m. when the wind knocked over the tree. It landed on her leg.

Crews had to use heavy-duty equipment to remove the tree, and it took about 20 minutes to free the woman.
