An East Brunswick police officer was hurt by a falling tree and taken to the hospital during Friday's nor'easter.
Authorities say that the officer was responding to a call for another fallen tree on Garfield Avenue when a second tree fell on his police cruiser near Garfield and McKinley avenues. The tree fell on the front hood and windshield of the cruiser.
The officer was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center and was alert and speaking to doctors.
The powerful nor’easter brought down dozens of trees and power lines across New Jersey Friday.
