NUTLEY -

Officials say the student responsible for a scare at Nutley High School is now banned from the facility.

Joseph Rafanello, 18, was charged with creating a false public alarm after posting a video to Instagram depicting gun violence.

The Nutley Public School District canceled classes and all after-school activities.

The school will reopen on Monday after the weeklong winter break.

Administrators say they plan to implement new procedures to ensure safety.
