Support group to hold candlelight vigil for Florida shooting victims

A Bridgeport support group for people affected by violence will hold a candlelight vigil Tuesday evening to remember the victims of the Florida school shooting and to stand in solidarity with their families.
Dawn Spearman founded You Are Not Alone, or YANA, in 2012.
"We urge everyone to come out and think about what has gone on throughout our country and how these deaths are occurring," Spearman says.
The members of YANA know what it means to experience the pain of losing a loved one, and they credit Spearman with creating a very effective support group.
Spearman says doing things like organizing forums is all part of a culture of caring that her organization, which receives no public funding, has come to be known for.
She says it will take a lot of caring, from a lot of different organizations, to help those devastated by the Florida massacre.
The vigil will take place at the Margaret E. Morton Government Center at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
