NEWARK -

Dozens of firefighters battled two fires in Newark Saturday morning.

Police say crews first responded to flames on the 100 block of Ridge Street just before 1:30 a.m.

The fire then spread to another building. Police say the flames forced 15 people from their homes, but no one was injured.

Firefighters also responded to a fire at 20 Wilson Ave. around 7:30 a.m., which was under control in about 15 minutes.

No one was hurt or displaced in that fire.
