Fuhgeddaboudit Food: Black Nile Seafood and Soul Food

A new restaurant on Nostrand Avenue is serving up dishes unique to the area, thanks to a married couple pursuing their dream.
Black Nile Seafood and Soul Food brings a unique twist to a community serving mostly West Indian food.
“The community [serves] mostly West Indian food, a lot of bold delicious flavors,” says owner Fanerra Dupree. “But we wanted to bring a part of what we do as far as our background being black, African-American and just put a unique twist on it."
Owner Fanerra Dupree has taken on the role as chef and says it is her dream come true.
Dupree describes her dishes as delicious for both vegetarians and meat eaters.
Patron Keith Ingram says the restaurant is comfortable and reminds him of his grandmother’s kitchen.
