Police boost drunken driving patrols for Super Bowl Sunday

Police officers around the state will be out in force Sunday looking for drunken drivers amid Super Bowl festivities.

Officials say saturation patrols will be out on the roads -- so drivers should expect a large number of officers conducting DUI checkpoints.

Somerset and Hunterdon counties even received state grants to fund overtime.

Revelers are being reminded to have a designated driver in place, or to use ride-sharing apps or cabs.
