MOUNT LAUREL (AP) - Authorities say passing drivers helped rescue another motorist from a burning vehicle after a crash on a major highway in southern New Jersey.
The accident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes of Interstate 295 in Mount Laurel.
Authorities say the man lost control of his Jeep Wrangler and struck a tree. They say passers-by and emergency responders worked together to soon free the driver.
The driver was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash. He was being treated at a hospital for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
A person involved in the rescue was also treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
