NY Sen. Klein denies claim that he forcibly kissed staffer

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - An ex-staffer has accused a senior New York state lawmaker from the Bronx of forcibly kissing her outside an Albany bar two years ago.
Democratic Sen. Jeff Klein denied the woman's claim on a hastily called conference call with reporters Wednesday afternoon, just before The Huffington Post published the woman's story.
The woman says she and Klein were smoking outside when he forcibly kissed her. She says she left the bar and resigned her position weeks later but didn't file a complaint because she felt ashamed.
Klein said he and Democratic Sen. Diane Savino joined staffers the night in question but nothing inappropriate occurred. Savino, who was dating Klein at the time, said she witnessed nothing unusual.
Klein leads a breakaway faction of Democratic lawmakers that works closely with Republicans.
