BRICK TOWNSHIP -

Dozens of homes were evacuated in Ocean County Saturday due a gas leak.

News 12 is told the leak happened in the Lake Riviera section of Brick.

Fifty homes along Tennessee Avenue, Hudson, Vermont and Georgia drives were evacuated as a precaution.

According to New Jersey Natural Gas, the leak was "made safe" by shutting off a valve.

Residents were given the all-clear to return to their homes, but as of 5 p.m. 40 homes were without gas while repairs were made.
