Airports, NJ Transit return to regular service

NEW JERSEY -

New Jersey Transit operated on a regular weekday service Friday.

Meanwhile, Amtrak operated on a modified schedule between Washington, D.C. and Boston.

Officials said they expected a limited amount of available Acela Express and Northeast Regional trains.

JFK reopened at 7 a.m. after high winds and whiteout conditions forced the airport to close yesterday.

Flights resumed at LaGuardia Airport Thursday night.

Weather conditions are expected to affect flights in and out of Newark Liberty International Airport.

Flyers are advised to expect residual delays and some cancellations.
