Volunteers help rescue dogs abandoned in North Bergen
A mother dog and her two pups will soon find new homes after they were found abandoned in North Bergen.
North Bergen police say that they received a call about the three dogs found in an industrial area of town on New Year’s Eve.
The New Jersey Humane Society and some volunteers from the North Bergen High School football team helped capture the dogs. Officials say that it took about 12 hours to capture all three of the dogs in the frigid temperatures.
The dogs were turned over to St. Huber’s Animal Welfare Center until they can be adopted.
Police did not say how long the dogs may have been abandoned.
