Man fatally struck by car in Toms River

TOMS RIVER -

Police say a man was struck and killed by a car in Toms River Friday.

The victim has been identified as 73-year-old James Icklan. Police say he was trying to cross Water Street when he was struck around 6:30 p.m.

Icklan was in the crosswalk at the time, but police say he did not have a walk signal.

The incident remains under investigation.
