Dog stolen from Monmouth County shelter finds new home

A 9-year-old Pomeranian stolen from a Monmouth County animal shelter is finally home with the family that was originally going to adopt it.
The story of Tub Tub went viral after the dog was stolen on Christmas Eve from the Monmouth County SPCA. The dog was finally returned after a tip came in to police and the thief was arrested.
The dog was nursed back to health by the staff after missing several doses of antibiotics.
Tub Tub finally met the Searight family Friday. Dominique Searight says that she wanted the dog for her twins Lana and Loni.
"Now I'm happy, I'm just happy. My daughters are happy and their Christmas was extended but now it's a happy ending so I'm very happy,” she says.
Police say that the woman who stole Tub Tub, 63-year-old Susan Bajew, is facing theft charges. The SPCA waived adoption fees for the family and also gave them a basket of doggie goodies and treats.
