New Jersey state troopers are being credited with saving a newborn baby's life.
Last week a woman gave birth on the side of the Turnpike in Newark.
When officers arrived, they discovered that the baby girl looked pale and lethargic. Sgt. Robert Ravotto noticed the baby was losing blood through the umbilical cord.
State troopers then cut and tied the umbilical cord before the family was brought to Jersey City Medical Center.
The baby is now doing well and will be home with her family for the holidays.
