Woman hospitalized after car collides with train

NEPTUNE CITY -

A woman is now recovering in the hospital after her car collided with a train in Monmouth County Monday morning.

The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. Officials say that the woman, who was driving a Toyota Prius, made a right-hand turn and crashed into the train. It happened near the intersection of Evergreen Avenue and Memorial Drive.

The North Jersey Coast Line was suspended in both directions between Long Branch and Bay Head for about two hours. Service resumed just after 1 p.m. 

The train was heading north between Neptune City and Bradley Beach.
