North Arlington named ‘best place to raise family’

NORTH ARLINGTON -

The borough of North Arlington was named by Time Magazine as the “best place in America to raise a family.”

North Arlington is known for the very large Holy Cross cemetery in town. The borough has a population of only 15,000. And nearly 300,000 people are buried there.

North Arlington beat out the Los Angeles suburb of Monterey Park for the top stop.

Time used criteria like access to parks, libraries and quality schools to rank the top towns. There are nearly 800 libraries within a 15 mile radius of the town.

The magazine also noted how close the town was to MetLife Stadium and the Meadowlands.

North Arlington's Pizza Land was made famous by the opening credits of HBO's "The Sopranos."

The borough also ranked earlier this year on Money Magazine’s list of the top 10 towns to live in.
