CRANFORD -

A three-vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway Friday afternoon backed up traffic for miles.

The crash happened just after 1:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes in Cranford.

New Jersey state police say that the crash involved three vehicles that crashed into the woods. Witnesses describe seeing at least one of the cars lodged in a tree.

Authorities say that a least two people were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
