Death threats scrawled in a bathroom stall at Brien McMahon High School prompted an extra police presence this week.
Norwalk police say the graffiti appeared last week reading "BMHS Massacre." It carried the date Dec. 12, 2017 and ominously concluded "May the Devil be with you."
Principal Scott Hurwitz sought to assure parents in a letter home last week that officials would speak with students about the consequences of vandalism and threats. And although he stressed that officials do not take threats lightly, he wrote that the graffiti appears to be more disruptive than dangerous.
But on Monday, parents say the word "Die" appeared written in the hallway.
The threats come just days before the fifth anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting massacre.
Some parents say they are withholding their kids from classes Tuesday to be safe. They're also calling for district officials to hold a meeting.
The district deferred questions to the Norwalk Police Department.
Norwalk police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
