EDISON -

As the first snowstorm of the season approaches, many parents say that they are rushing out to buy their children new snow gear because they have outgrown their old stuff.

The owner of the Once Upon a Child children’s consignment shop in Edison says that the shop was flooded with phone calls and Facebook messages of parents looking for boots, snow pants and winter coats.

“The first snowstorm of the season. Everyone’s scrambling. I was this morning. My Facebook friends were messaging me, you know, ‘Do you have size 7?’” says owner Layla Razikka.

Parents tell News 12 New Jersey that their children grew over the year and they weren’t prepared for the snow.

Some parents say that they like shopping at places like consignment shops because their children grow out of the winter clothing so quickly.
