Allentown student suspended after handgun found at school

A student has been suspended after the individual allegedly brought a handgun to Allentown High School, Upper Freehold Regional School District’s superintendent said.
Upper Freehold Regional School District Superintendent Dr. Richard Fitzpatrick released a statement to parents and faculty Wednesday, informing them of the incident.
According to the statement, a student was detained and will not be able to return to school for at least a year.
Fitzpatrick said an investigation found no reason to believe the student wanted to harm anyone.
The student has not been identified.
