New Jersey lawmakers and business owners are voicing their opposition to the Senate Republican tax plan.

While the House's version of the plan has already passed, local business owners like Paul Miller of Vision Retirement, say it will just give New Jersey residents a reason to leave.

Miller says residents could save $10,000 to $12,000 a year in taxes by moving to a state with no state income tax like Florida. The current plan would eliminate state and local tax deductions.

At a small business roundtable, Rep. Josh Gottheimer called the plan an assault on New Jersey.

"We will lose businesses and we will lose jobs and we're going to lose people," Gottheimer says.

The Senate's version of the plan is in the midst of changes as Republicans work to win votes. President Donald Trump is expected to meet with Senate Republicans Tuesday to talk about the tax plan.

Republican Rep. Tom MacArthur of Ocean County is the only New Jersey House member who voted in favor of the House's version of the tax reform bill. He says the plan is good for New Jersey families and businesses.

The Senate may vote on the bill as early as Thursday.
