A fast-moving fire Thanksgiving morning ripped through the First Way of the Cross Church on Clinton Place in Newark.

Pastor Gerald Beals says there's no doubt that he will rebuild the church. That process will start this weekend with a series of meetings he's planning with his congregation.

Beals has actually rebuilt the church from the ground up -- not once, but twice after a fire in 2001.

"There's a void right now, but God is gonna fill that void because I got a purpose," Beals says.

Beals says rebuilding should take several months and that he's relying on the strengths of the community to do it.
