WAYNE -

Toys R Us says that promotional codes intended for only certain customers were improperly shared online.

The Wayne-based company says that the codes were only for Toys R Us credit card holders and were not supposed to be shared online, but the codes quickly went viral.

The glitch allowed customers to combine three coupon codes for a 60 percent discount on their order, according to published reports.

“It resulted in an overall deal that was simply too good to be true,” the company said on Twitter.

Orders that shouldn’t have qualified for the deals were canceled, according to the company.
