NEPTUNE -

A soccer star from the Jersey Shore joined volunteers at the Monmouth County Food Bank Thursday.

Olympic gold medal-winner and World Cup champion Christie Rampone helped to unload turkeys donated by ShopRite to the Fulfill Food Bank in Neptune. ShopRite is providing more than 4,000 pounds of turkey and fresh food for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Rampone say that this is her opportunity to give back.

“This community has given me so much, and has supported me through everything,” she said. “It's awesome to come back and be able to support them and help with this drive."

Fulfill Food Bank provides meals to more than 130,000 people at the Jersey Shore.
