Cheddar morning business report 11/9: DOJ reportedly stalls AT&T, Time Warner purchase

Top morning business and technology headlines for Nov. 9, 2017:

  • The United States Justice of Department is reportedly putting the brakes on AT&T's planned purchase of Time Warner. That is unless Time Warner sells the Turner TV unit, which includes CNN. Some are questioning whether this is all about politics. President Donald Trump has often called CNN “fake news.”
  • Goldman Sachs wants to make it easier for American businesses to invest in China. The bank tells CNBC that it's working with the China Investment Corporation to establish a $5 billion fund, so U.S. companies can have better access to the Chinese market.
  • Put away the Zombie fraps, and get ready for Starbuck's newest creations: Toasted White Chocolate Mocha and Chestnut Praline Chai Tea Latte. There's also a Candy Cane Whoopie Pie, which is made of two chocolate cakes with peppermint icing.
