Several vehicles went up in flames Wednesday night inside a car rental company’s parking garage at Newark Liberty International Airport, authorities said.
Firefighters responded around 7 p.m. to the second floor of Avis’ parking garage after an Avis employee noticed a fire under the hood of a vehicle. Wind helped spread the flames to three other vehicles, which then caught two others on fire, officials said.
Firefighters were able to gain control of the blaze in about 20 minutes, authorities said.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
