Toms River North H.S. senior debuts play about Superstorm Sandy

TOMS RIVER -

A young playwright and senior at Toms River North High School is debuting his new show, "Stronger than the Storm."

Luke Sulsenti says he began writing the show over the summer and says the play tells the story of New Jersey during and after Superstorm Sandy.

After months of preps, casting and rewrites, the show is underway.

"I feel like we actually learn how to view our own problems by watching characters on screen and in this instance we see our community's real life stories, how they dealt with actual problems," says Sulsenti. "I just thought that it was really inspiring to a lot of people when it comes to adversity, don't know whether to move on or stay in the past."

More than two dozen of Sulsenti's classmates auditioned for roles in the play.
