Former President Obama to campaign for Murphy in NJ

NEWARK -

Former President Barack Obama will come to New Jersey later this week to support Phil Murphy.

Obama will join the democratic candidate for governor Thursday afternoon at an invite-only rally in Newark. The former president is just the latest in a line of heavy democratic hitters that have come to stump for Murphy.

Others included former vice presidents Joe Biden and Al Gore.

In response to all the high-powered campaign support Murphy is bringing to the state, Republican challenger Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno released the following a statement:

"Phil Murphy is clearly getting nervous. After our new ad called out Phil Murphy for his dangerous support for making New Jersey a sanctuary state, his campaign is flying in out-of-state liberals to save his campaign."
