New Jersey to join Nevada, Delaware in online poker pact
(AP) - Gamblers in New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware will soon be able to play poker against each other online.
The agreement announced Friday by the three states will allow New Jersey players to join in with poker once regulators in all three states approve an operator and the game software.
Players in Nevada and Delaware have been able to play against each other since 2015.
Nevada currently only offers poker online and a spokeswoman for Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval says there's currently no plans for other games.
Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says pooling players will enhance annual revenue growth, attract new customers and create new opportunities for players and Internet gambling operators.
New Jersey launched Internet gambling in 2013 and took in $20.4 million last month from online gambling, up 25 percent over last year.
