Cheddar morning business update 10/9: Amazon considers selling prescription drugs

Top morning business and technology headlines for Oct. 9, 2017:

  • Amazon could be getting into the prescription drug business. The company is reportedly close to deciding whether it will sell prescription drugs on its site. 
  • Tesla isn't the only tech company trying to help out in Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria. The FCC gave Google's Alphabet permission to fly 30 massive balloons over the island as a way to bring emergency cellphone service. As of Monday, more than 90 percent of the island was still without service.
  • Dove has apologized for a racially insensitive ad for its body wash that was posted on social media. The ad, which showed a black woman turning into a white woman, has already been deleted. Dove says it “missed the mark in thoughtfully representing women of color.”
