School officials warn parents of viral meningitis case in Lacey

Schools district officials in Lacey are warning parents about a local high school student diagnosed with viral meningitis.
Since the illness is not the same as bacterial meningitis, the district says it is not deadly.
Symptoms of viral meningitis include headache, fever and stiff neck.
The illness can be spread through coughing, sneezing or direct contact.
As a precaution, the school says they will be doing a deep clean this weekend.
