The aide is in addition to National Guard personnel from New Jersey already sent to Texas and Florida to provide hurricane assistance.
About 134 soldiers and 40 trucks left Cape May around 5 a.m. Friday to assist in Florida. NJ Task Force 1 was activated to Florida last night at the request of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Gov. Christie already approved aid to Texas for victims of Hurricane Harvey.
The governor previously said that many states helped New Jersey after Superstorm Sandy, so this is a way to repay the favor.
